Foundation
St. Andrew’s Residence, Chatham Foundation (“The Foundation”) was incorporated as a Charitable Corporation in 1992. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to St. Andrew’s Residence (“the Residence”) to further their vision statement of “growing with the community to actively provide exceptional services and facilities for seniors”. Specifically, the Foundation provides financial assistance to residents who have been living at the Residence for a minimum of two years, and can no longer afford their accommodation fees as well as funding for major capital improvements to the Residence.
A volunteer Board of Directors govern the Foundation, working in partnership with the administration of St. Andrew’s Residence as well as individuals, groups and businesses who believe in the vision of St. Andrew’s Residence and are committed to bettering the lives of seniors in Chatham-Kent.
Funds raised by the Foundation are used to enhance the lives of seniors who make St. Andrew’s Residence their home as well as those seniors living in the community who benefit from our community outreach services. Over the years, the Foundation has been instrumental in financing two major additions to the original 43 bed Residence which now has the ability to provide accommodation and care to over 70 residents. Most recently, the Foundation supported plans for immediate and specific renovations to the interior of the Residence in 2010.
