Care Options
Experience the different professional care can make. As a resident at St. Andrew’s, you will have access to professional health care and services by our experienced care team. We are staffed with a long-term professionally trained and educated team consisting of 24 hour Registered Nursing staff (RN/RPN) and Personal Support Workers. Care staff are responsible for medication administration, blood glucose, blood pressure and weight monitoring, as well as regular nursing assessments. We also provide a coordinated post-operative care program.
In case of emergencies, call bells are located in all resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
At St. Andrew’s Residence, two care options are available. Independent Living provides all basic care needs, including a supervised bath in our reclining, easy-entry tub that provides a safe and comfortable bathing experience. The Assisted Living care option is designed for those residents who require some additional care, but are not yet ready for Long Term Care. Under the Assisted Living program, residents are able to receive additional assistance with personal hygiene, dressing and bathing as well as assistance to and from the dining room. Respite and short term stays are also available for those recovering from surgery or considering retirement home living.
Our house physician and Director of Care oversee the care of all residents to ensure the highest quality of personal care is provided. Medications are managed by our Care team and we also have visiting lab services and referrals for foot care if needed. Through our on-site physiotherapy program with Active Health Management, a program including strengthening and falls prevention is available at no cost, to meet each resident’s needs.
